Why would the "mysterious organization" (your words, not mine) need to
know the specifics about Desmond leaving the bunker? Or even of Desmond
being in the bunker in the first place?
All I'm saying is that *if* someone had foreknowledge of Flight 815
breaking up over the island on September 22, 2004, then one of the many
options open to them would be to fake a crash site somewhere else. Don't
ask me to justify that option or explain any grand plan behind it,
because I don't have enough information to hazard a guess. I'm just
exploring the possibilities.
My sole point in all this is that *if* the Sunda Trench crash site is a
fake as so many seem to believe (and as Frank Lapidus' phone call seems
to support), then it is folly to assume that the site can only have been
faked after the loss of the 'real' Flight 815. There's a chance, however
small, that the site could have been faked prior to the flight's
departure.
And if you're going to ask me how anyone could 'know' that Flight 815
was going to break up, I might be inclined to suggest a similar
mechanism to that by which Desmond 'knew' Charlie was going to drown in
the Looking Glass.

It's as pretty damned close to established as you're going to get in
this show. Just how established do you want things to be? All we can do
here is speculate based on interpretations of what we've been shown, and
as interpretations go I don't think this one is at all radical. Desmond
is one of the few characters who seems to have been more or less honest
with everyone, and if we believe his 'flashes' I see no reason (yet) to
disbelieve what we saw with Ms. Hawking either. We just can't place it
fully in context yet.

And what does that have to do with the price of fish?
