Subject: Are the Losties becoming the Others?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who saw the standoff between Jack and
Miles in "Confirmed Death" and was reminded of the standoff between
Friendly and Jack in "The Hunting Party". In both cases we had one
group with people hidden in the jungle firing warning shots at people
in another group, followed by the first group taking the second
group's guns.

In "The Beginning of the End" Locke tells the people that everything
he did, he did in their best interests. In the previous episode, Ben
says something similar to Mikhail. And there was something very
"other-like" about the way Locke's group melted out of the trees to
confront Charlotte in the lake, although the only scene that recalled
to me was in "Adrift" where the tail section people confronted
Michael, Sawyer, and Jin.

In "One of Them", Locke makes explicit the theme that being an other
depends on a point of view. In that case, Sayid, who was the tortured
in "Solitary", had become the torturer. I wonder if someone is going
to take a kid off a raft next.
